The books to the right were in a pile where I left them yesterday. As I sat on the couch last night I glanced over at them, deciding if I were going to read them or watch television with my husband.
The titles jumped out at me this time though. The Journey is the name of my Bible, it was published by Zondervan Publishing House in 1996 for the Willow Creek Association. The Bible has some special study points for those who are investigating Christianity. The title fits the process we are all going through in life.
The next book is The Resolution for Women by Priscilla Shirer. It is a companion book for the movie Courageous which came out this September. The book is full of encouragement and challenges for women to draw a line and take a stand for themselves, their faith, and their families. It is such a wonderful read. I am making myself read it in small portions so I can “chew on” what I have read.
The white book under The Resolution is my journal. On its binding is a quote from Jerry Jenkins co-author of The Left Behind series. “You will always make the time to do what you really want to do.” I hadn’t realized how well that quote fit my devotions and Bible study time.
The book underneath it all is A Woman’s Heart God’s Dwelling Place; the study I am doing right now. It is the same study I have referred to in other posts. I have been so drawn into the very presence of God while doing this study. I hate to have it end. I have already registered to do a study on the book of James in January. Both studies are by Beth Moore and her style of teaching has been one of my favorite things over the past 10 years.
Whenever I find a book that draws me in, makes me want to dig deep, and helps me learn more of God’s purpose I want to share it.
I am on a Journey and I am making Resolutions for the way I want to live my life because I want my Heart to be God’s Dwelling Place. I will always make the time to do what I want to do which is spending it in study with God.
I love getting a new perspective while I am on my journey of faith. What about you?
