Imagine with me

November is my favorite month of the year. The month is full of annual celebrations, Thanksgiving, and so many treasured memories of family gatherings. And yet, this month is full of goodbyes.
November is solemnly marked by the empty seat at a table, the missing laughter shared over a time-worn joke. As the days pass by, I remember my friend and co-worker, who lost her 6-year battle with breast cancer. I remember family members who died “too young,” an uncle who loved his children dearly, and a dear grandfather who taught us the treasures that comes from family.

When my grandfather passed away a song by MercyMe was playing on the radio that blessed me, encouraged me, and comforted me, too.

I pray that as you reflect and remember loved ones you have lost this year or in years past, you will find comfort in these words (see Revelation 21:4).

I can only imagine what it will be like
When I walk by Your side
I can only imagine what my eyes will see
When Your face is before me
I can only imagine
Yeah

Surrounded by Your glory
What will my heart feel?
Will I dance for You Jesus?
Or in awe of You be still?

Will I stand in Your presence
Or to my knees will I fall?
Will I sing, Hallelujah?
Will I be able to speak at all?
I can only imagine
I can only imagine

I can only imagine when that day comes
And I find myself standing in the sun
I can only imagine when all I will do
Is forever, forever worship You
I can only imagine, yeah
I can only imagine

Surrounded by Your glory
What will my heart feel?
Will I dance for You Jesus?
Or in awe of You be still?

Will I stand in Your presence
Or to my knees will I fall?
Will I sing, Hallelujah?
Will I be able to speak at all?
I can only imagine
I can only imagine

Surrounded by Your glory
What will my heart feel?
Will I dance for You Jesus?
Or in awe of You be still?

Will I stand in Your presence
Or to my knees will I fall?
Will I sing, Hallelujah?
Will I be able to speak at all?
I can only imagine, yeah
I can only imagine

I can only imagine, yeah
I can only imagine
I can only imagine
I can only imagine

I can only imagine
When all I would do
Is forever, forever worship You
I can only imagine
