It’s a new day today. A day full of decisions, options, ideas, and plans.
Will you choose new mercies, new opportunities, new miracles, new grace, and new love today? Or will you choose to carry the burdens of old hurts, old insults, old arguments, and old anger into your new day?
If we are called to follow after Christ, we know the answer. But do we live out the answer? Some days, it would be so much easier to nurse the old hurt, than to allow it to heal. To remind others again and again of their failures and ways they have disappointed you. It would be so much easier to make others feel as bad as you did at that moment.
And yet. and yet, God calls us to remember the newness of each day, the blessing of forgiveness, the opportunity to give grace, to receive grace.
Give others a chance to grow, mature, and receive grace. Give yourself a chance to do the same.
Yesterday is old, today is now, tomorrow is not yet. Live in the now and allow others to do the same.
He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!” Then he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.” (Revelations 21:5).
You have heard these things; look at them all. Will you not admit them? “From now on I will tell you of new things, of hidden things unknown to you. (Isaiah 48:6).
