today is the day

It’s Monday, a day when many grumble and fuss that they have to wake up early and go to work. This is definitely one way to look at the day.

Or a person could look at this day in this way–Psalm 40:16 says, But may all who seek you rejoice and be glad in you; may those who long for your saving help always say, “The Lord is great!”

Today is the day God has made! We can grumble and complain, or we can embrace and rejoice in a new day, a new opportunity, a new view, a new choice. Just as we choose the clothes we will wear and the food we will eat today, we can choose the attitude we bring into the day. I think the perspective my grandfather had puts it all in the right frame, “Any day above ground is a good one.”

So, today.  A new day. An opportunity.  A chance to change negative behavior, to start a new venture, to start an adventure.

Each day God has given us is a reminder that we still have a job to accomplish, a task to do, a purpose for His glory.

Are we joining Him or are we missing Him?

Today is the day You have made
I will rejoice and be glad in it
Today is the day You have made
I will rejoice and be glad in it

And I won’t worry about tomorrow
I’m trusting in what You say
Today is the day

Oh, oh, oh
