Many of the people I have known over the years have said they think Christianity is just a list of “Don’t do” and do not realize it actually a relationship of amazing blessings and promises.
My B.C. days were full of worry, doubt, fear, condemnation, sorrow, and a sense of failure. When I first asked Jesus to come into my life, I looked at my Faith as a list of “Do and Do not.” And the list of “Do not” was very long.
It wasn’t until after I began to study the Bible that I realized the sense of freedom that comes from the words No, Never, and Not. Jesus showed me that while the world sees these words as stop signs, bars, and restrictions, we as believers can see these words with a spirit of excitement and joy.
We are not restricted, we are truly freed (2 Corinthians 3:17).We are truly free, we never have to return to the bondage and brokenness we knew before we knew Christ.
If you doubt this, O Best Beloved, rest in these words below.
Romans 8:1-2 Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death.
Isaiah 54:17: no weapon forged against you will prevail, and you will refute every tongue that accuses you. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and this is their vindication from me,” declares the Lord.
John 15:13: Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.
Mark 12:28-31: One of the teachers of the law came and heard them debating. Noticing that Jesus had given them a good answer, he asked him, “Of all the commandments, which is the most important?”
“The most important one,” answered Jesus, “is this: ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.
Isaiah 64:4: Since ancient times no one has heard, no ear has perceived, no eye has seen any God besides you, who acts on behalf of those who wait for him.
Acts 4:12: Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.”
Ephesians 2:8-9: For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast.
Hebrews 13:5: God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.”
Genesis 9:11: “I establish my covenant with you: Never again will all life be destroyed by the waters of a flood; never again will there be a flood to destroy the earth.”
~Dear Ones, find courage in these words. The bars are broken, the doors are opened, the chains are gone. And we will never, no not ever, have to be bound again.
