bathtubs

Over the years, I have been invited to visit homes that are beautifully built with custom work applied per the owners’ requests. Windows from floor to ceiling, unique designs, selected woods, wide balconies, you name it. The most common item is a special bathtub in the master bathroom for “hours of soaking and relaxation.” And yet, these costly items are only used to hold a plant for watering, a towel expertly draped across the side. But rarely, if ever, are they used by the home owners for their created purpose.

The bathtubs just become an item to pass by. Much like leaving a gift in the box, it is never fully appreciated. It ends up being wasted.

When believers do not use the gifts God has given us we waste it, much like the tub that takes up space but is never used. Bible teachers I admire have taught that we are given these to use for God’s purposes and glory. By not using it we are not giving God was He deserves.

Before you feel like you need to walk with your head down and tail tucked, take heart Dear Ones. All you need to do is stop, seek forgiveness, and tear open the package of gifts you have been given and use them. Ask the Holy Spirit to show you ways to be used by God and seek ways to encourage your brothers and sisters in Christ.

Check out these verses for encouragement~~ 1 Corinthians 12, 1 Corinthians 14:2, Hebrews 2:4. Talk with a pastor, Bible study teacher, mentor for encouragement.
